Haf started OLBAA in late 2019 with his wife Rachel. He had a previous career in the tech world and spent most of that in Asia between Australia and Singapore. But after Rachel and him decided to move the family back to England it was time to do something different. Give up that corporate treadmill and try to build something more rewarding. After 3 failed business ideas, one more was born - that was OLBAA. While he’s quit a very comfortable life in Asia to try building a business in England, he says he’s not a big risk taker. Rather, he just has a desire to do something meaningful and make some kind of an impact on his kids and those around him.

After a career spanning various industries launching large-scale projects, Rachel ended it with a 7 year stint at Apple where little did she know that their obsession with products and packaging would eventually permeate into where she is now as a Co-Founder of OLBAA. After leaving the corporate world, baking became her escape starting with bread, but quickly progressing to cakes and various other desserts. This would lead to opening her own baking business but ultimately, it wasn't the baking that was her calling. She realised the dire situation in the cake packaging world and realised there wasn't much on the market to fit her needs when making tall cakes.

So here comes the pivot. Stop one business, but take the idea you learned from it and turn THAT into the real business you want to do. And that's where OLBAA comes about. Quality dessert packaging for bakers -designed by a baker.
